Springtime is here! I don’t know about you, but spring in our family means coffee on the porch in the mornings, and afternoons working in our backyard garden. It’s a lot of work to get the garden weeded, tilled, planted and to keep it watered, but the payoff is a beautiful backyard landscape and a lower grocery bill.
If we’re honest, isn’t that the way it is in our relationship with God? Some days it takes a lot of effort to lift up our eyes and take up our crosses. Other days we can see Him moving, and He feels so close we’d swear we can hear Him whispering in our ears. Either way, that relationship requires cultivating, and the devil will do whatever he can to distract us. But take one look outside on a beautiful spring day, and God’s love for us is evident in every detail he so carefully planned out with us in mind!
The next time you feel isolated or distanced from God’s love, curl up with a cup of coffee and remember His promise. “Neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
